Job description

The Capabilities, Analysis and Development (CAD) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a skilled and seasoned Data and Software Programmer to support a team conducting data science research and development that develops methodologies to identify supply chain vulnerabilities associated with Weapons of Mass Destruction. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team identify novel methods of data exploitation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in software design, computer science, data science
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to communicate research efforts at a level comprehensible to laymen and senior-level government representatives
  • 5 years direct work experience in research analysis
  • TS clearance with eligibility for SCI based upon a SSBI in the last five years
  • Sec+ or equivalent certification per (DoD 8140)
  • Experience coding (preferably in front or backend webapps: Javascript, Typescript, Python, Java, or C etc)
  • Familiarity with Git
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10 years direct work experience in research analysis
  • Familiar with Mac or Linux CLI/Bash, shell scripting, ssh
  • Experience rapid prototyping capabilities via Python notebooks, stream-lit apps, or quick scripts
  • Experience building or implementing AI model harnesses and familiar with Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Military or commercial experience in large data-set analysis, data quality, data discovery
  • Experience with Langchain or other such AI enabling frameworks
  • Experience with reverse engineering
  • Experience with databases (SQL, graph, vector)
  • Experience writing plugins (ie .dlls)

Compensation & Benefits:Pay Ranges: From $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year based on years of experience, degree and any special skills and knowledge that they may bring to the position.
