Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...About the role 
Walmart is hiring a Senior, Data Analyst – Transportation Modeling to support strategic, data-driven decisions across Supply Chain and Transportation. In this role, you’ll use advanced analytics and modeling approaches to evaluate complex “what-if” scenarios and translate results into clear insights for business partners and leaders.
This is a high-visibility role with a broad stakeholder group. You’ll work across teams to understand the business question, structure the analysis, and communicate recommendations that help inform long-term network and transportation strategy.
What you’ll do:
  • Build, maintain, and run transportation and supply chain models (including simulation and scenario analysis) to evaluate strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define the problem, gather inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure outputs are decision-ready.
  • Assess tradeoffs across cost, service, capacity, and operational feasibility for initiatives such as new facilities, new services, and network changes.
  • Develop executive-ready materials (storytelling, visuals, and summaries) that clearly explain model results, risks, and recommendations.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment and help drive alignment across stakeholders.

  • Strong transportation and/or supply chain domain understanding and the ability to connect how decisions impact cost and service.
  • Experience using modeling tools and/or third-party software to evaluate network, routing, capacity, or operational scenarios.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguous, open-ended questions.
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
