Description

Cheshire Academy has an opening for a full-time math teacher for 2026-2027 academic year.


The successful candidate will be able to provide quality instruction in math courses ranging from beginning algebra to calculus. In addition to an integrated college prep math curriculum, Cheshire Academy offers multiple levels of IB Mathematics as part of the International Baccalaureate diploma program. Experience with the IB diploma program is therefore a plus. Our hire will likely teach the IB Math Analysis and Approaches HL track, though experience with these exact courses or the IB curriculum is not expected. Experience teaching calculus and beyond is preferred. Computer science courses are also offered within the department and may be an option if aligned with candidate interest and expertise.ย

Other responsibilities include a combination of teaching, advising, and participation in the co-curricular and residential life of the school. Dorm responsibilities are included if school housing is provided.ย ย 

Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CT "A" endorsement for purposes of transporting students.ย

Requirements

Minimally, this candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, computer science, or a related subject. A master's degree, teaching credentials, and/or relevant experience teaching various levels of high school math is preferred. Applicants must embrace participation in the entire boarding school experience.
