Computer Science & STEM Teacher (Grades 5–8)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School is seeking a dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic educator to teach Computer Science and STEM to students in grades 5–8. The successful candidate will inspire students through hands-on, project-based learning while fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.

This position includes teaching computer science and technology skills in grades 5–6 and STEM courses in grades 6–8. Our curriculum emphasizes practical technology skills, coding, engineering design, robotics, innovation, and teamwork.

ResponsibilitiesComputer Science (Grades 5–6)

Teach and develop student proficiency in:

  • Digital learning platforms (Schoology)

  • Keyboarding and touch-typing

  • Microsoft Office applications, including:

    • Word

    • PowerPoint

    • Excel

  • Internet safety and digital citizenship

  • Introductory programming:

    • HTML and JavaScript (Grade 5)

    • Python (Grade 6)

STEM Education (Grades 6–8)

Facilitate engaging, project-based learning experiences that include:

  • Engineering design challenges

  • CAD drafting and 3D printing

  • Robotics and automation

  • Arduino-based electronics and programming

  • Model building and prototyping

  • Research, innovation, collaboration, and presentation skills

  • Design thinking and real-world problem solving

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related field

  • Teaching experience preferred

  • Experience with programming and educational technology

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with robotics, Arduino, CAD, makerspace activities, or related technologies is preferred
