Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED: : [139] OR [304] Or appropriate CTE endorsement

  • Ability to teach Family and Consumer Science curriculum.
  • Possess competence in computer and technology skills.
  • Communicate with parents as appropriate and on a consistent basis.
  • Supervision and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to supervise food labs and teach safety and sanitation.
  • Knowledge of the developing child.   
  • Serve on one or more building or district committees such as collaborative teacher teams or Career and Technical education team.
  • Cooperate with and participate in building-based initiatives.
  • Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and privacy as well as confidentiality of all conversation hard copy information.                                                                                                         
  • Must be willing to support and implement multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for both academics and behavior.
  • Willingness to participate in the building-wide Collaborative Teacher Team process as a part of the Continuous Improvement initiative.
  • Willingness to implement building wide PBIS practices in support of building and district goals.
  • Flexibility in meeting the needs of all students and the school.
  • Willingness to work with technology as it relates to student and building needs.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative manner with teachers to meet the needs of students with special needs.
  • Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
  • Able to work as a team member.
  • Other duties as assigned by administrator.

  • Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.
  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
  • Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
