Job Summary and Responsibilities
Acentra Health is looking for a Systems Manager to join our growing team.
This is an onsite position, and requires that the candidate must live within a commutable distance from Montgomery AL, and be able to work onsite up to 4 days a week
Job Summary:
As the Systems Manager, you will manage day-to-day assigned IT staff (Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Developers, Testing staff, etc.) and oversee the delivery of application support and maintenance for this complex Medicaid system. You will provide leadership and direction to the team members across all aspects of delivery.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as primary technical contact with Client
  • Day-to-day liaison with the state Client and stakeholders
  • Hire and train system maintenance and modification staff
  • Develop and manage procedures for routine maintenance
  • Provides day-to-day supervision of all assigned team members and works independent of supervision from senior management
  • Manages the support and maintenance of operational systems for Medicaid/MMIS project life cycle across project(s) / program(s)
  • Serves as a liaison between the client and other area resources across the full project life cycle
  • Provides leadership and direction across the enterprise business to ensure project/program delivery on time
  • Supports functional, and management teams to make product and solution decisions by collaborating with the cross-functional subject matter experts / specialists as needed.
  • Applies communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of industry best practices to guide the assigned team members on issues related to project/program delivery
  • Enforces the use of best practices and holds team accountable for adhering to those practices
  • Sets attainable goals for team members to meet client and project commitments
  • Recommends new processes where needed to improve quality, cost, or on-time delivery
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other education- and experience-related duties that management may deem necessary from time to time.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or master's degree related IT
  • 8+ years supervisory experience in Medicaid systems design, development and implementation (DDI)
  • 8+ years of recent experience managing DDI work within multiple functional areas of MMIS
  • Candidates must live within a commutable distance from Montgomery AL and be able to work onsite up to 4 days a week
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)
  • Well versed in programming languages, operating systems, databases and Cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of version control and defect management tools
  • Experience in project management and ability to create and manage project plans
  • Ability to communicate and translate technical impacts, technical solutions, root cause, and corrective actions into business concepts or layman's terms and make presentations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work effectively with different teams' contributors both directly and in a matrix environment

Experience in Lieu of Degree
