The Rotman Research Institute (RRI) is a premier international Centre for the study of human brain function. The RRI is committed to advancing knowledge of healthy aging and age-related brain disorders, such as dementia, stroke, and sensory loss, by building on its foundational strengths in cognitive neuroscience and its leadership in the innovative use of informatics, electrophysiology, and neuroimaging technologies. The Kunin-Lunenfeld Centre for Applied Research & Evaluation (KL-CARE) is a support and services hub at the RRI that is focused on working with healthcare professionals, researchers, trainees, non-profits, and commercial partners to facilitate and support clinical, applied, and evaluative research at Baycrest and beyond.

KL-CARE is currently looking for an empathetic, hardworking, and organized individual to fill our position of Research Assistant. The Research Assistant’s role is to work on a diverse portfolio of research and evaluation projects in the aging 7and brain health space.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•                  Literature reviews

•                  Assisting with participant recruitment and informed consent activities

•                  Medical chart review & data abstraction

•                  Assisting with the collection, management, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data

•                  Conducting neuropsychological assessments and/or neuroimaging data collection

•                  Assisting with database creation & maintenance

•                  Assisting with preparation of written materials: focus group/interview guides, research ethics board applications, consent forms, manuscripts, research reports, poster and presentation submissions

•                  Engagement with the lead investigators, research team, and clinical providers throughout the research process

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

•                  Completion of a B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience or Health Sciences related discipline combined with at least one (1) year of relevant research

•                  Experience with applying a client-centred approach to interacting and working with patient populations, particularly older adults

•                  Experience in quantitative research, including conducting basic data analyses using common statistical software such as SPSS

•                  Experience with neuropsychological testing

•                  Experience with neuroimaging data collection and analysis is an asset

•                  Experience in qualitative research – data coding & analysis using common software such as N’Vivo is an asset

•                  Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

•                  Experience using research databases and reference management software is considered an asset

•                  Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable and flexible individual, able to work independently

 

 

Compensation:

At Baycrest, we take pride in ensuring our compensation structure is internally equitable and compliant with pay equity legislation. Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.

The target hiring range is $39,873to $54,826 per year.

Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
