Job description

Job Title: Research & Development Associate Scientist Location: Branchburg, NJ Hours / Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (with flexible start and end times - must be consistent) Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $28.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new diagnostic products, primarily immunoassays, through laboratory experiments and evaluation of reagents and biological materials
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, collect, analyze data, and assist with product improvements from concept to technology transfer
  • Evaluate reagents for prototype diagnostic development and biological samples for manufacturing and QC applications
  • Formulate and optimize immunoassay prototypes and perform analytical performance studies
  • Organize laboratory and clinical data for regulatory submissions and support technology transfer to manufacturing and quality teams
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments, maintain accurate documentation, and perform routine equipment maintenance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related Life Science discipline
  • Strong laboratory pipetting skills and experience weighing chemicals and buffer formulation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Basic laboratory skills such as pipetting and gravimetric measurement; previous industrial laboratory experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of immunoassay functions (ELISA, IFA, multiplex platforms) and analytical methodologies (SDS-PAGE, spectrophotometry)
  • Previous industry laboratory experience is not required but preferred
  • Recent graduates with strong laboratory coursework and hands-on bench skills are encouraged to apply
  • Highly desired skills include assay development, handling biological fluids, and experience with analytical laboratory techniques
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative team, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and organized
