Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant in the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
The purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant is to provide cellular, genetic, molecular, and biochemical support at Dr. Sugimoto's lab.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Performs laboratory research requiring analysis of yeast cells and mammalian and application of standard cellular, molecular, biochemical, and genetic procedures.
  • Maintains necessary lab records, databases, and files as hard copies and computer files.
  • Do serial dilutions of biological organisms to assess numbers.
  • Maintains and manages lab supplies.
  • Follow protocols to conduct basic molecular genetic and cell biology experiments.
