Job description

This is a temporary position during the Summer 2026


GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Cyber Security Intern will assist the Information Security team in protecting the organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role provides hands-on experience in security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and incident response while learning industry best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity and potential threats.  
  • Support the Cyber Security team in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.  
  • Participate in the development and implementation of cyber security policies and procedures.  
  • Help in the research and analysis of emerging cyber threats and security trends.  
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation regarding security incidents and responses.  
  • Aid in the maintenance of security tools and platforms.  
  • Collaborate with IT staff to ensure proper security configurations and controls are in place.  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONT'D
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.  
Currently pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Basic understanding of cyber security principles and practices. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common security tools.
