Job Description Summary:
This position is available only to ACC students enrolled in the ITSC 2264 practicum course. With supervision, will perform general administrative duties and/or research functions for the purpose of developing a working knowledge of a specific area of study.
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
  • This paid internship provides hands-on experience in the field of information technology while making a meaningful impact in the community. Interns support Housing Authority residents by increasing access to technology, improving digital literacy, and enhancing access to critical housing services.
  • Connect residents to free and low-cost high-speed internet in collaboration with Google Fiber
  • Secure, refurbish, and reimage donated electronic devices
  • Deploy refurbished devices to residents and maintain device inventory
  • Provide in-person and phone-based IT support, including assistance with RentCaf
  • Support digital literacy outreach events and host on-site office hours
  • Strengthen device and network security, and educate residents on basic cybersecurity practices
  • Assist with additional technology access initiatives as needed
