Description

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a JCI Intern. Reporting to the Historical Research Manager, the JCI intern will research WWII veterans' military service, assist with Museum conferences, write articles for the website, and other administrative tasks. This position's main priority will help with the Jenny Craig Institute's Historical Research Services which researches WWII veterans' military service for family members. Through this program, the intern will locate and study veteran records and draft personal narratives on individual WWII veterans using their official military personnel files and other records.

Requirements

  • Participate and assist with JCISWD public events and programs.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Historical Research Specialist with daily operations and administrative tasks which includes responding to public research requests.
  • Locate, evaluate, and utilize historical records related to veterans' military service; compose personal narratives.
  • Conduct historical research on WWII-related topics and author articles for the Museum's website.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in military history or history, museum studies, political science, education, hospitality studies, or related field.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with others.
