Job description

Position Overview:

Squarepoint is seeking a hands-on Trading Infrastructure Support (TIS) Tech Lead to manage a global TIS team. The candidate will lead a team of support specialist, ensuring high availability of Squarepoint's mission-critical infrastructure, systems, and platform application services across APAC, EMEA, and AMER regions.  

  • Manage a 24x5 global support schedule and weekend on-call rotation.
  • Define policies, processes, roadmaps, and best practices to meet SLAs and scale with business needs.
  • Collaborate with service teams to build automation, self-service tools, and runbooks. Ensure the team is trained, skilled, and empowered to remove blockers and inefficiencies.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate inefficiencies across workflows and operations.
  • Lead and coordinate technical efforts across the global support team.
  • Stay hands-on with troubleshooting and lead major outage recovery efforts to minimize impact.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage a 24x5 global support schedule and weekend on-call rotation.
  • Define policies, processes, roadmaps, and best practices to meet SLAs and scale with business needs.
  • Collaborate with service teams to build automation, self-service tools, and runbooks. Ensure the team is trained, skilled, and empowered to remove blockers and inefficiencies.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate inefficiencies across workflows and operations.
  • Lead and coordinate technical efforts across the global support team.
  • Stay hands-on with troubleshooting and lead major outage recovery efforts to minimize impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix administration (RHEL/CentOS/OEL preferred).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, including observability, orchestration, containerization, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and configuration management.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a technology team, ideally in infrastructure support.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and strategic mindset.
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of storage protocols (NFS, GPFS a plus).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, multicast, tcpdump, PTP, NTP).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ITIL knowledge is a plus.

The minimum base salary for this role is $100,000 if located in New York.  This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting.  This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation.  This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.  Successful candidates' compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
