Position Overview:

This position is for aย Senior Platform Engineer. ย You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to grow and hone your skills with other talented members at ARKA.ย  Our ideal candidate is an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer who is a hard charging self-starter that can come onto a team and begin to produce quickly.ย  You should have a basic understanding of Kubernetes, AWS, containerization, automated test, and deployment pipelines.

Candidates may be considered for sign on bonuses up to $35,000 consistent with skills and experience levels.

This position is an on-site position located in Chantilly, Virginia. Each ARKA location has wonderful attributes as described below.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in computer science or related engineering field
  • 5+ years of Infrastructure/DevOps experience
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engage with virtual or remote teams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience with using Helm charts to deploy software to Kubernetes clusters (ie. Argo CD)
  • Strong experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Github Actions, etc)
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, GitHub workflows)
  • IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CASP+)
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with fully adjudicated Full Scope polygraph
  • Travel: 25% to Herndon, VA, when needed to support customer onsite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile software development methodology
  • Experience with container tools (Docker, Podman) and container orchestration
  • Experience delivering microservices in Kubernetes-based systems
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Basic understanding of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana or similar
