What is a Computer Science MBA?

A Computer Science MBA is a graduate program that combines advanced studies in computer science with business administration and management training. This dual-focus degree is designed to equip students with both the technical expertise required in the tech industry and the leadership, strategy, and management skills necessary for business roles. Graduates are prepared for careers that bridge technology and business, such as technology management, product management, or executive positions in tech-driven companies. The curriculum typically includes courses in programming, data analytics, software development, as well as finance, marketing, and organizational behavior. This unique combination opens doors to leadership positions where both technical and business acumen are essential.

How does a Computer Science MBA role typically bridge technical and business teams within an organization?

Professionals in Computer Science MBA roles often act as a crucial link between technical development teams and business units. They translate business objectives into technical requirements and ensure that technical solutions align with strategic goals. This collaboration involves frequent meetings, project management, and problem-solving across functions, making strong communication and cross-disciplinary understanding essential. As organizations increasingly rely on technology-driven strategies, these roles offer significant opportunities for career advancement into leadership and executive positions.

Job description

About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

Read more in our Bloomberg funding announcement here.

About the Role

At Solace, we’re transforming healthcare by ensuring every patient who wants a health advocate can access one. As we scale rapidly, we're seeking an exceptional Strategic Operations Lead to spearhead critical growth initiatives and drive our clinical strategy forward.

Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer’s Chief of Staff you'll serve as a strategic partner across the organization, leading high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that enhance clinical quality, accelerate growth, and expand our service offerings.

This is a hybrid in person role in our Cambridge office, 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with the Chief Medical Officer’s COS (and CMO) to design and execute strategic projects that directly advance our clinical strategy and business growth objectives

  • Own delivery of multiple high-visibility, complex initiatives, ensuring exceptional quality output and on-time delivery while maintaining alignment with company priorities

  • Develop strategic recommendations and implementation roadmaps through rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis, translating insights into actionable business plans

  • Develop compelling presentations and deliverables that articulate objectives, track progress, and communicate strategic recommendations to leadership teams

  • Design and monitor KPI frameworks, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure initiatives consistently deliver expected outcomes

What You Bring to the Table

  • Have experience in strategic operations, program management, or management consulting

  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, or adjacent industries required, with understanding of clinical operations and regulatory environments a significant plus

  • Exceptional analytical, project management, and business development skills, with proven ability to break down complex problems, develop compelling business cases, and analyze operational data to drive decision-making. Attention to detail matters.

  • Strong track record of leading successful strategic initiatives from conception through delivery, including experience with planning, risk management, and performance optimization

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, discerning judgement, with ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and functional areas

  • Curiosity and tenacity

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH) preferred

  • A vision for what healthcare can and should be

Applicants must be based in the United States.

Up for the Challenge?

We look forward to meeting you.
