JOB TITLE: MP&P Engineer 3
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
PAY RATE: $74.50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: 2nd

  • OT/DOT Expected: Possible overtime up to 20%

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (interim or final post-start). U.S. Citizenship required. Special Program Access or other government access requirements may apply.

Summary: 

  • Apply chemistry, physics, and materials science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods

  • Provide technical evaluation and support for composite part fabrication

  • Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for material and process issues

  • Create and execute test plans, write reports, and contribute to material, tool, and process specifications

  • Qualify and approve equipment, materials, and processes

  • Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory

  • Coordinate with other disciplines, including Design, Production, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement

  • Travel to suppliers as needed

  • Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines

  • Manage test/audit programs, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (interim or final post-start). U.S. Citizenship required. Special Program Access or other government access requirements may apply.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques

  • Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques

  • Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives

  • Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis

  • Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans

  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office

  • Experience creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
