Essential Functions
- Assist chemistry students in acquiring various technical skills through demonstration and supervision.
- Help in the enforcement of safety rules as the students perform the experiments.
- Assist students with basic computer programs such as those used for graphing (Excel, etc.).
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lab, including the lab benches, weighing balances, and fume hood areas.
- Prepare various solutions and reagents for experiments in the labs, as needed.
- Assist the Lab Director in the organization of the chemistry labs and chemical stockroom.
- Perform clerical duties, including photocopying.
- Assist with the proctoring of exams and grading pre-labs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Current Barry University Student enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, science major preferred.
- Basic experience using Excel or Graphical Analysis software is preferred.
- Must have successfully passed with a "B" or better in the course that he or she will be assisting.
