The team leads the design and delivery of a trusted unified data foundation, advanced analytics capabilities, and AI solutions across lululemon's vertically integrated retail ecosystem, embedding strong data governance and responsible AI practices from the very beginning. By applying AI to critical business challenges and creating new, transformative AI solutions, the team helps reshape how lululemon operates. Through deep partnership with product, technology, and business teams, Enterprise Data & AI accelerates product innovation, unlocks measurable value, elevates guest and educator experiences, and drives enterprise efficiency.

core responsibilities As a Senior Applied AI/ML Scientist, you lead the delivery of AI/ML solutions for complex business challenges, translating business requirements into scalable, production-ready models and intelligent systems. You provide hands-on technical leadership across solution design, experimentation, validation, and deployment; influence technical direction within your problem space; and guide peers and junior scientists. You partner closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure solutions are robust, maintainable, responsibly applied, and tied to measurable business outcomes.

Examples of work include: Designing and deploying machine learning and predictive/generative AI models for demand forecasting, optimization, personalization and search, intelligent automation, and multimodal content creation and enrichment Applying NLP, computer vision, multimodal, or time-series modeling techniques to enterprise-scale datasets spanning structured and unstructured data Building production-ready AI/ML pipelines and evaluation approaches that connect model performance to business decisions and measurable outcomes Partnering with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to assess AI feasibility, risks, trade-offs, and value for complex use cases Select responsibilities include: Develop and lead complex AI/ML solutions for strategic business problems, selecting appropriate methods, developing advanced models, and delivering production-ready solutions that create significant business value Drive production at scale by building robust AI/ML systems for business-critical use cases, applying strong practices for deployment, monitoring, reliability, and maintainability in partnership with engineering teams Translate business requirements into AI/ML solution designs, connecting model capabilities and constraints to business workflows and identifying opportunities to improve or reimagine processes Develop reusable AI/ML approaches and components across related use cases; establish rigorous evaluation and business-impact measurement practices within the team and contribute to broader standards Integrate business domain expertise into AI/ML solutions by building strong stakeholder relationships, incorporating business context into technical decisions, and ensuring solutions address strategic objectives qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience 6-10 years of AI/ML research, data science, or computational research experience, or equivalent, which includes educational experience (e.g., a Master's degree) Demonstrated ability to maintain deep, current expertise across a breadth of AI/ML techniques and evaluate or adapt emerging and state-of-the-art methods to specific business constraints and use-case requirements Proven track record leading the design and implementation of complex AI/ML solutions with multiple models or components, with strong practices for code quality, evaluation rigor, reproducibility, and responsible AI Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying AI/ML solutions that balance model performance, scalability, reliability, and operational complexity across real-time and data-intensive environments Experience implementing ML solutions using commonly used tools such as Python, PyTorch, cloud ML platforms and libraries, open-source toolkits, and reusable ML components must haves Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life. Please Note: Authorization to work in Canada is required for this role. compensation and benefits package lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from$183,590 - $240,960 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
