Job Summary
 
The Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for ownership of order execution phases to assure quality products are delivered on time within scope/budget parameters. Duties include assisting with standard equipment selection and system design, coordination of internal and outsourced resources, customer interface, management of scope/schedule and change orders to meet customer requirements, and delivery of equipment to customer.
 
The Rapid Execution group specializes in delivering quality
 
OEM equipment packages to both domestic and international customers in short lead times. Project portfolios can include various complex systems that must be delivered in critical windows to keep customers operational. Order complexity and available delivery varies, as well as day to day operations during execution. The PE will interact closely with upstream sales engineering during quoting, order award, and project lifecycle. Once released, the PE will manage multiple vendors for both equipment supply and outsourced fabrication to ensure that project milestones are met and progressing according to schedule. Once complete, the PE will coordinate with customer on delivery to location and commissioning/parts support as required in conjunction with Zeeco Global Field Service and Zeeco Aftermarket teams.
 
Our customers rely on proactive efforts and communication as most often they are dealing with equipment requirements that are a critical path with direct impact to their revenue stream. This position enables the PE to function in a role that is professionally fulfilling and results in exponential experience gain compared to the same timeline with equivalent positions.
 
Job Description:
 
       Once customer order is confirmed and released internally:
       Confirm equipment selection and design as quoted/sold to customer.
       Coordinate with internal resources (i.e. drafting, supply chain, etc.) to release necessary tasks for project deliverables (i.e. drawings, data packages, bill of material, etc.).
       Interact with Drafting Manager to provide necessary information (redlines) to construct drawing package for customer review or approval.
       Utilize available project information and drawing package to source fabrication with external fabricators. Complete RFQ (request for quote) process, negotiate pricing/scope, and determine best choice to release equipment to.
       Duplicate RFQ process and selection for control system.
       Interact with Supply Chain to select and organize free-issue materials to be provided to vendor(s) to complete build.
       Coordinate with Purchasing group to select, source, and buy necessary items/materials/instruments to be supplied to vendor(s) and/or direct to customer.
       Manage all functions above and track progress against project schedule to monitor impact on customer delivery milestone.
       Coordinate all internal/external/commercial correspondence related to project execution. To include necessary communication between Zeeco and customer, end user, outside consultants, suppliers, or any other stakeholders.
       Interface with Administrative group to release and transmit information both internally and to customer.
       Maintain constant communication with Applications Engineering group to stay current on commodity pricing, fabrication/shop labor, scheduling, customer requirements, etc.
       Coordinate with Accounting regarding invoicing milestones and assist Accounts Receivable with payment receipt in a timely manner.
       Maintain constant communication with internal stakeholders and customer contacts throughout project lifecycle. Information to be shared includes project status updates, schedule assessments and impacts, and any other pertinent information needed to ensure an efficient and effective project delivery.
       Perform additional duties as assigned/required.
 
Qualifications
 
       Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Preferred: Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, MET, Constr. Mgmt.) or equivalent background as justified.
       Prefer experience (related) in any of the below:
       Manufacturing environment
       Internship relating to project management, manufacturing, continuous improvement, etc.
       OEM sales/fabrication
       Universal project management
       Above can be excluded if provided with equivalent combination of education and experience.
       Must be proficient in standard personal computer skills and professional correspondence. Employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, both inside and outside the workplace.
