Job description

Description

Who We Are

White Lodging develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning premium hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants in some of the country's most dynamic cities. We know that the hospitality business, like life, is about how you make people feel. That's where you come in. You'll help bring the virtue of hospitality to life while we create an environment that allows you to be your best self and grow.

We are hiring an IT Service Desk Intern to join our corporate technology team at White Lodging's headquarters in Merrillville, Indiana. This is a hybrid IT internship — three days in our Merrillville corporate office and two days remote — offering hands-on, real-world experience across Service Desk, Project Management, and IT Security at one of the country's leading hotel development and management companies.

As an IT intern at White Lodging, you'll rotate monthly through various IT roles, report directly to the Director of IT Operations and Infrastructure, and gain practical experience with industry-standard tools including Office 365, Active Directory, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Saflok, PMS, Toast, Micros, Bomgar, PRTG, and more. If you're a recent graduate or current student looking for IT internships in Merrillville, Indiana, hybrid IT internships near Chicago, or hospitality technology internships with a premium hotel company, this is a rare opportunity to build real skills across multiple IT disciplines in a fast-paced corporate environment.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute heavily to documenting and tracking internal processes related to the White Lodging IT team — building the institutional knowledge base that supports a growing multi-property hotel technology operation
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization — paired with effective project tracking, conceptual thinking, and quantitative and analytical skills
  • Collaborate with IT team members and cross-functional personnel to accomplish organizational goals across Service Desk, Project Management, and IT Security disciplines
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of IT — with the ability to handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision in a fast-paced corporate IT environment
  • Manage the ordering and approval coordination of technology requested by remote hotel locations — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely fulfillment across the White Lodging portfolio
  • Prioritize and manage multiple IT projects simultaneously — following through on issues in a timely manner and maintaining accountability across all assigned responsibilities

What You'll Bring

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree recently obtained or currently in progress in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — required
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment while managing multiple concurrent IT projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analysis, and documentation skills — you can translate technical concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with or exposure to IT service desk operations, network monitoring, cybersecurity tools, or hospitality technology platforms — experience with Office 365, Active Directory, Splunk, CrowdStrike, or comparable tools is a strong plus
  • Core competencies: Intelligence, Analysis Skills, Accountability, Energy, Resourcefulness, Integrity, Tenacity, and strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Comfort working independently with little supervision in a hybrid corporate IT environment — self-directed and productive both in the Merrillville corporate office and remotely

What You Can Look Forward To

  • Hybrid work schedule — 3 days in our Merrillville, Indiana corporate office, 2 days remote
  • Hands-on monthly rotation through Service Desk, Project Management, and IT Security roles
  • Direct mentorship from the Director of IT Operations and Infrastructure
  • Real-world experience with industry-standard hospitality technology tools — Office 365, Active Directory, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Saflok, PMS, Toast, Micros, Bomgar, PRTG, and more
  • Exposure to IT operations across a portfolio of 60+ premium hotel properties nationwide
  • Discounts on hotel rooms, dining, and travel
  • Growth opportunities within the White Lodging corporate technology team
