Job description

Your team’s dynamic:

Genetec is currently seeking a Technical Trainer. We are looking for a dynamic, responsive individual, able to work well in a fast-paced, lively environment. You will be responsible for delivering training on Genetec products at Genetec training locations and partner offices. When not teaching, you will be working from your home office preparing for future training sessions and updating existing training content. This position requires frequent travel within the assigned commercial territory, and occasionally overseas.

What your day will look like:

  • Deliver technical training to Genetec customers, resellers, distributors, and internal staff
  • Update existing training material to reflect changes in new product releases
  • Create training presentations, manuals, course outlines, and digital references
  • Contribute to improve training documentation and tools
  • Maintain a current, in-depth knowledge of Genetec’s products and functionality
  • Participate in classroom setup, lab and exam grading, and course question follow-up
  • Facilitate instructor-led technical courses using servers, clients, networks, and devices
  • Facilitate online instructor-led courses using a cloud-based virtual environment and LMS
  • Communicate course feedback to internal teams for process and product improvement
  • Effectively convey technical understanding to different audiences, from users to administrators

More about you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience delivering technical training, preferably software training
  • Willing and able to travel to deliver training up to 75% of the time
  • Possess exceptional presentation and presentation skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication in English, additional languages an asset

Technical requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems and virtual machines
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles and IP configuration
  • Experience with database concepts and client-server environments
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting methods
  • Experience with physical access control systems
  • Experience with video management systems
  • Experience with online training delivery, e-learning, and LMS platforms, an asset
  • Experience with cloud-based technology and cybersecurity concepts, an asset
