Graphic Design Intern (Hybrid)

We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Graphic Design Intern (Hybrid) on our Scientific Publication team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

The intern will gain hands-on experience in brand marketing working as part of a team creating print and digital marketing assets, supporting sales and brand campaigns, and collaborating with a creative team on work that reaches diverse audiences. The intern will gain hands-on participation working with internal clients, interpreting creative briefs, and producing digital and print assets in a fast-paced environment. They will gain real-world examples to include in their design portfolios.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create graphics and marketing materials that support JAMA Network campaigns, communications, and brand initiatives

  • Gain experience across a wide range of deliverables, including creating and updating: brochures, templates, conference support materials, digital house banner ads, presentations, and social media assets

  • Apply JAMA Network brand guidelines to produce polished, consistent visual work

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications professionals and contribute to real-world projects from concept through production

  • Support production design needs, including preparing InDesign files for print and managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be a current university student
  2. A strong design eye and enthusiasm for creating clean, thoughtful, and impactful visual
  3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  4. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Express, and presentation design tools
  5. Resume and portfolio or design samples required with application

This role is a non-exempt position and the hourly range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00. This is the lowest to highest rate we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
