Job description

Job Title: Product Graphic Designer

Department: R&D

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA or St. Louis, MO

Reports to: Senior Director of Design

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervises: None

General Overview: The Product Graphic Designer will work closely with the Rawlings and Easton design and product teams to bring innovative, best-in-class product experiences to life across multiple categories. This role goes beyond traditional graphic design, focusing on holistic product execution. This position will support a wide range of product categories including bats, gloves, bags, protective equipment, helmets, apparel, and accessories. Responsibilities include developing colorways, product graphics, and help with branding systems, as well as contributing to packaging design and marketing asset creation for product launches.


A key component of this role is the ability to deliver high-level product renderings and visual storytelling, requiring proficiency in tools such as KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite. The ideal candidate understands how graphics translate onto physical products and can critically evaluate execution, materials, and manufacturing processes to ensure premium results. This role requires strong collaboration across Design, Product, Development, and Marketing teams, with a high level of ownership in communication, prioritization, and project management.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver best-in-class graphic and color execution across multiple product categories. This includes sports and fashion centric color ways as well as complex patterns and design theme motifs.
  • Develop graphics, colorways, and branding systems for products based on marketing briefs, product strategy, and brand direction.
  • Execute graphics across a wide range of products including gloves, bats, bags, apparel, protective gear, helmets, grips, and accessories.
  • Create packaging design solutions and support marketing asset development for product launches.
  • Produce high-quality, photorealistic renderings using KeyShot and Adobe tools to support presentations, sales materials, catalogs, and digital platforms.
  • Translate concepts into clear deliverables including tech packs, renderings, and production-ready files, ensuring alignment with cost targets and timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Development, Marketing, and external vendors to ensure feasibility and execution excellence.
  • Develop and communicate concepts through sketches, digital renderings, and presentations that clearly articulate product intent.
  • Research trends in graphics, color, materials, and culture both within and outside the sporting goods industry to inform product direction.
  • Participate in product validation and athlete/consumer feedback loops to strengthen product-market connection.
  • Maintain strong organization across multiple projects in a fast-paced, stage-gate development environment.
  • Contribute to and continuously improve graphic and product creation processes.
  • Identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and execution challenges with a product-first mindset.
  • Support mockups and prototype reviews to ensure design integrity through production.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Color theory, color application and fabric pattern generation.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong experience with KeyShot or similar rendering software preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality product renderings and visual presentations.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, materials, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Ability to create clear, detailed, and production-ready tech packs and documentation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage timelines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present ideas across cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail with a critical eye for product execution and quality.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office and 3D/CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) is a plus.


Working Conditions: General office working conditions some domestic and international travel. Travel internationally 8-10 weeks or as needed and/or required by essential job functions.
