Preference for Washington, DC or San Francisco.

Salary: $140,000–$260,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Patent Associate to join its nationally recognized Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Patent Prosecution practice.

This is an outstanding opportunity for professionals with 3+ years of patent prosecution experience who are passionate about protecting cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, robotics, and advanced computing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
  • Manage patent portfolios for innovative technology companies across a diverse client base.
  • Prepare high-quality patent applications involving:
    • Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)
    • Tensor Processing Units (TPUs)
    • AI accelerators and neural engines
    • Robotics circuitry and actuators
    • Electrical engineering and software technologies
  • Work closely with inventors and in-house counsel to develop strategic patent protection.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Physics
    • Mathematics
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent technical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Prior law firm, engineering, or industry experience preferred.
  • USPTO registration required for all candidates.
  • JD and active state bar admission required for Patent Associate candidates.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $140,000–$260,000, depending on experience.
