Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Pine Bluff, AR. This role involves close collaboration with Resident Physicians to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations. The LPN will assist with patient preparation, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks, all while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

This position must be able to perform all duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse and perform other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current and valid LPN license by the State of Arkansas and a Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • One (1) year of clinical nursing experience or will consider a new grad with a current license and one year of previous medical experience (MA, PCT, CNA).
  • Must have strong organizational skills and computer knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Immunization experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ambulatory experience.
  • EPIC experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong clinical expertise and technique.
  • Working knowledge of data processing equipment and applications.
  • Attention to communication, oral, written, and persuasive.
  • Must be able to build collaborative relationships.
  • Possess personal credibility.
  • Ability to make independent judgments that have highly significant impacts on the organization.
  • Ability to provide motivational support to an area of responsibility.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and computer knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtains the patient's height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, and chief complaint and records the data in the EMR.
  • Assist Resident Physician with patient assessment, testing, and special procedures.
  • Coordinates ancillary services, referrals, hospitalizations, and services with other agencies.
  • Assess the Arkansas Department of Health Immunization site on every visit to assess the patient's possible need for immunizations. Nurses will also provide education for all vaccinations based on patient and/or parent need.
  • Document all vaccination administrations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and forward them to the designated individual to be entered into the state registry.
  • Disseminates educational materials and renders training to patients related to disease status or prevention.
  • Provides supportive testing related to patient visits as ordered by the Provider or per standing orders or protocol. (Spirometry, Audiometry, EKG, Vision test, Retinal Exam, Pulse Oximetry, blood glucose check, fluoride treatments, updrafts, ear irrigation, dressing changes, lab and X-ray).
  • Collects laboratory specimens as ordered by the Physician.
  • Assists patients to the laboratory and radiology for diagnostic testing.
  • Sets up equipment for testing or treatment that is to be performed by the Provider.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, i.e., pelvic exams and minor surgical procedures, including but not limited to removal of ingrown toenails, removal of skin lesions, and closure of minor lacerations.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as ordered by the Provider or per standing orders.
  • Schedule referral appointments as ordered by the Provider
  • Enter orders for labs, referrals, and testing as ordered by the Provider
  • Triage of urgent matters that occur in the clinical area.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
