Summary of Job Duties:The Department of Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking candidates to fill its available Extra Help positions. The primary responsibility of an Extra Help Assistant is to provide professional-level support related to research and creative activities under the direct supervision of a graduate faculty member. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field;

  • At least 1 year of work experience in a computer science or cybersecurity field;

  • Completion of a comprehensive programming course of study.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and contribute to cybersecurity research projects, including threat hunting and application development;

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to undergraduate students in cybersecurity practices and research techniques;

  • Develop and present research findings at academic and industry conferences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;

  • Proficiency in programming and application development;

  • Detailed knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
