P-Tech Academy

TST P-TECH Academy seeks an innovative educator who believes students learn best by designing, building, solving, collaborating, and creating.
This position is not a traditional computer lab or programming position. The successful candidate will develop and teach an interdisciplinary program that prepares students for college coursework, industry certifications, and careers in today's rapidly evolving technology fields.
Working within the P-TECH model, the teacher will integrate Computer Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Design, Project-Based Learning, and workplace learning experiences while partnering with higher education and business professionals in a co-taught setting.
A successful candidate will: Believe every student can succeed, teach through Project-Based Learning, embrace StandardsBased Learning, collaborate in a co-teaching environment, design learning around authentic workplace experiences, foster creativity and innovation, integrate SEL and restorative practices, build relationships with students and families, participate in enterprise projects and pathway experiences, and work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary teaching team.
We are looking for someone who: Thinks like an innovator, enjoys solving problems, can inspire students through hands-on learning, is willing to continuously learn emerging technologies, values teamwork and collaboration, understands that technology changes rapidly and curriculum should evolve with it, and believes students should create technology and not simply consume it.

DUTIES:

  • Design authentic Project-Based Learning experiences where students solve real-world technology problems
  • Develop curriculum aligned with: NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards, NYS CTE Standards, college coursework, and industry expectations
  • Teach students to: Build computers, configure networks, write code, secure systems, analyze data, design prototypes, troubleshoot hardware/software, develop digital solutions, and work collaboratively
  • Integrate software such as: Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Robotics, Sensors, AI tools, Cloud platforms, and Industry software
  • Coordinate partnership with: TC3 faculty, Business mentors, Industry partners
  • Support students in learning skills towards industry-recognized careers

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have New York State New York State Computer Science Certification (All Grades).
Experience in several of the following: Computer Hardware, networking, cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, programming (Python preferred), Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Linux, Windows Administration, Virtualization, computer repair, database systems, web development, GitHub, industry certifications, emerging technologies is also desirable. Experience in technical fields or teaching in a CTE, STEAM or PBL environment is preferred.

Must be a team player and be willing to participate in co-planning, co-teaching situations in an integrated academic environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and data management skills along with strong teaching and computer skills. SALARY: $58,000 (2026-2027 full-time base salary), plus additional salary credit for previous teaching experience, Masters Degree and/or graduate course work. Excellent benefits are available.
