The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th nationally, and the undergraduate program is ranked 5th, by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. With over 16-degree programs, including its world-renowned online MS in CS, we believe the College is the largest Computing unit in the United States and, as such, one of the largest producers of computationalists at all levels and across all demographic backgrounds. The College is a part of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a unit of the University System of Georgia, and is primarily located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.
Coordinate and provide operational support to efforts aimed at achieving academic progress for students within a designated target group. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic advisors, students within target group, unit staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: academic advisors and students within target group. This position will supervise: NA.
Job Duty 1 -
Monitor and advise students regarding academic progress in courses, short/long-term goals, study skills and time management.
Job Duty 2 -
Inform academic advising staff regrading individual student registration issues.
Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate use of academic support resources offered by other campus units.
Job Duty 4 -
Monitor and prepare, maintain and distribute records relative to student academic progress.
Job Duty 5 -
Provide study skills assistance through selected sources, personal counseling.
Job Duty 6 -
Provide administrative support to academic advising efforts within unit.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned
