Job description

Join the Levata Canada team as a Field Technician. We are looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused individual who can provide on-site technical support, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of identification systems and related technology solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with customers, solving technical issues, and partnering with our sales and technical teams to deliver effective solutions.

This is an onsite/customer-facing role that requires travel to customer locations.

What you'll do:

  • Repair, install, configure, maintain, and upgrade barcode printers, identification systems, related software, and peripheral equipment at customer sites.
  • Assemble and configure computers, monitors, printers, barcode equipment, and other identification systems for new installations and reconfigurations.
  • Assess service and repair requests, determine required service levels, and escalate complex issues to supervisors or suppliers when required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues efficiently through phone and email support.
  • Assess customer needs and provide training on the effective use of equipment and systems.
  • Recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions to customers and internal teams.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical and service documentation.
  • Stay current on new equipment, software, and OEM certifications to maintain the knowledge required to support customer solutions.
  • Support the sales team during customer visits and calls by providing technical expertise.

Relationships and Roles

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering high-quality technical support and service.
  • Partner with the Sales team to understand and address customer requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with OEMs, repair partners, and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to share technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Work with the programming team to understand software and hardware integrations.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams to ensure customer needs are addressed.

Education/Experience

  • Technical diploma or equivalent, or completion of at least two years of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of technical repair and support experience with identification systems.
  • Experience with barcode systems, software, hardware, or related technology is an asset.
