Job description

Felician University is presently offering an exciting opportunity for an academically qualified, full-time faculty with expertise in both computer science/cybersecurity and criminal justice. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, criminal justice credentials, and a proven track record of teaching excellence. S/he should be comfortable developing and delivering courses across various formats (in-person, hybrid, online), as well as strong research skills and a passion for publishing. The Assistant Professor will be expected to participate in university events, student advisement, assessment, and curriculum development. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to professional growth are essential. Kowledge of at least two programming languages is required, and CISSP certification preferred.

Required Education:

Earned doctoral degree in computer science/cybersecurity and credentials in related criminal justice or cybersecurity fields required; MS in cybersecurity, with certifications and work in cybersecurity industry may be considered

Qualifications:

Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research. Provide evidence of effective teaching (student evaluations, peer evaluations); demonstrated expertise in the areas of cybercrime and computer science/cybersecurity, as well as prior experience with course development related to cybercrime and cybersecurity, including fully online and/or hybrid course development and teaching; extensive knowledge in the area of cybercrime including computer hacking, digital piracy, electronic fraud and theft, and other forms of victimization; experience in cross-disciplinary research and programs integrating criminal justice with computer science/cybersecurity; superior written and verbal communications skills; CISSP certification preferred; working knowledge of at least two programming languages as well as practical and/or teaching experience in subjects such as network security; willingness and ability to support the Felician Franciscan mission and core values of the university.
