Job description

Computer Repair & IT Support Technician


Fox Business Systems is a local computer sales, service, and business IT support company in Manhattan, Kansas. We help small businesses, organizations, local government, and home users with practical technology support, computer repair, networking, email, backups, cybersecurity, and day-to-day troubleshooting.
We are looking for a dependable IT Support Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on, in-person position that includes a mix of in-shop computer repair, customer support, remote assistance, and occasional onsite service for local customers.
The right person enjoys solving problems, learning new technology, communicating clearly with customers, and following issues through until they are resolved. We are willing to train the right person, but reliability, problem-solving ability, honesty, and good customer communication are very important.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, printers, networks, email, and common software issues
- Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware problems
- Assist customers in person, by phone, remotely, and occasionally onsite
- Set up new computers, transfer data, configure email, and install software
- Help with Microsoft 365, cloud services, backups, Wi-Fi, and basic networking
- Document customer issues and explain solutions in plain language
- Maintain a clean, professional, customer-focused work environment
- Learn new tools, systems, and procedures as needed
Helpful experience:
- Customer service experience
- Windows desktop/laptop troubleshooting
- Computer repair or technical support experience
- Basic networking, Wi-Fi, printers, Microsoft 365, or email setup
- Ability to communicate patiently with non-technical customers

We are looking for someone who is dependable, honest, willing to learn, and comfortable working directly with customers.
