$55,600.00 - $91,450.00

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, improvement, and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes, including both mechanical and chemical operations. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role contributes to automation projects, helpsmaintainprocess documentation, andassistsin daily production support to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Support & Improvement

  • Assistin developing and updating manufacturing processes, work instructions, and SOPs.

  • Help perform basic time studies, process mapping, and data collection.

  • Support efforts toidentifyinefficiencies and implement continuous improvements.

Automation Support

  • Assistin the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of automated equipment (robots, PLC-controlled systems, sensors).

  • Work alongside senior engineers and integrators to support automation upgrades and process optimization.

  • Participate in equipment validation activities such as FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ tasks under supervision.

Chemical Process Support

  • Support chemical mixing, dispensing, coating, curing, and related operations within production.

  • Assistwith monitoring chemical process parameters, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

  • Helpmaintainchemical handling instructions, cleaning procedures, and related process documentation.

Quality & Compliance

  • Support investigations for nonconformances by gathering data and helping execute corrective actions.

  • Participate in PFMEA reviews, risk assessments, and process validations led by senior staff.

  • Follow GMP/IVD/ISO 13485 or similar regulatory requirements as applicable.

Daily Production Support

  • Provide hands-on support to operators and technicians on equipment, materials, or process questions.

  • Help troubleshoot basic equipment or process issues before escalating.

  • Monitor production metrics such as scrap, yield, and cycle time.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Update process documents, equipment logs, and engineering records in collaboration with senior engineers.

  • Collect and analyze basic production data to support engineering reports.

  • Maintainaccuratedocumentation related to automation, chemical processes, and process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or relatedfield.

  • Internship or 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or engineering environment.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or med device industries is a plus

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, chemical handling, or automation systems.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on technical skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exposure toautomation (robotics, PLCs, sensors) through coursework, internships, or projects.

  • Experience in regulated industries (Medical Device, IVD, Pharma, Aerospace) is a plus.

  • Understanding ofLean/6 concepts or participation in improvement projects.

  • Basic familiarity with Minitab, JMP, or other data analysis tools.

  • Willingnessto learn anddeveloptechnical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Good communicationand interpersonal skills.

  • Problem-solving mindset with curiosity for how thingswork.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily on-site at Bio-Techne's Minneapolis facility.

  • May require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
