Job description

Why Join Rincon Research Corporation (RRC)?

At Rincon Research Corporation, our primary business is innovating, developing, and fielding digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities in support of national security.

We are seeking a DevOps Engineering Intern to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in systems operations and contribute directly to Rinconโ€™s evolving development infrastructure.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to help build, maintain, and modernize core services, infrastructure, and deployment platforms.

Come join the team that is creating cutting edge signal processing, software, geolocation, and AI/ML systems for the future!

What are the primary responsibilities in the Internship position?

  • Monitor & Troubleshoot: Help monitor applications and systems to identify and resolve basic hardware, network, or service issues.
  • Script & Automate: Use languages like Python or Bash to write simple scripts that automate routine operations and optimize existing workflows.
  • Support Pipelines & Tools: Assist with configuration management, version control, and testing within active deployment pipelines.
  • Document & Onboard: Help maintain clear technical guides, documentation, and setup instructions for internal developer tools and frameworks.

What required background will make you successful?

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Clearance: No security clearance is required.
  • Certification: Willingness to obtain a basic security certification (DOD 8570) within 90 days of hire (training and support provided).

Helpful Skills & Interests:

We do not expect you to be an expert in all of these areasโ€”an interest in learning them is what matters most:

  • Basic familiarity with Linux environments (such as RHEL or CentOS).
  • Interest in automation, cloud, or configuration tools (like Ansible or Terraform).
  • Exposure to containers (Docker) or container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP).
  • Interest in system logging, observability, and data analytics to track and improve performance.

Where is the position located?

This position will be located in our Tucson, AZ Headquarters and is 100% onsite. Relocation assistance will not be offered.

*Compensation for this position will be $28 per hour.
