Job description

Position Title: SEDM Applications Engineer Intern

DESCRIPTION

The Applications Engineer Intern will work alongside the Applications team to learn and develop the skills necessary to become successful in our unique industry. We are looking to develop the future of MC Machinery Systems by utilizing the latest in 2D/3D modeling software and using some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment available today. Our Applications Engineers work to develop processes to enhance customer production by utilizing product analysis and demonstrations. Projects will reflect an increasing level of understanding and success from previous tasks.

Although there is no guarantee of employment when completed it is our goal to prepare you for a future in the industry once graduated.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize CAD/CAM software to render machine parts for machine programming.

• Learn machine programming and operation.

• Familiarized with sales process and demonstration procedures.

• Showroom maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines to be ready for customer demonstrations.

• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Job operates mainly indoors and is exposed to generally consistent conditions, such as regulated air conditioning and heating. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this type of job.
