Job Description:

Administrative, technical and supervisory work in the Engineering Division, providing a broad range of professional level engineering services; duties include planning, developing, contracting, managing, and inspecting varied road repair projects; all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and more than seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working on road construction, maintenance and repair; at least three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity; previous project management experience with strong administrative, technical and managerial skills.

Additional Requirements:

Class D drivers license required.

Massachusetts Professional Engineer certificate preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering, the design standards, methods, techniques, materials and equipment involved with the maintenance, repair and construction of roads and drainage. Working knowledge of state and local regulations pertaining to the construction and repair of roads and drainage. Working knowledge of state and local procurement regulations and policies. Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and policies. Knowledge of engineering related computer application programs. Knowledge of state of the art stormwater treatment technology.

Ability to prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates and contract documents for road repairs. Strong ability to meet and communicate effectively and harmoniously with the public. Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records. Ability to work independently.

Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and engineering, drafting and design software. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals and groups.

$3,618.18 bi-weekly, plus benefits
