  • Interest in clinical data analysis, biomedical informatics, health services research, or clinical decision support.
  • Ability to work responsibly with sensitive health data in a secure computing environment (HiPerGator).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and reliability in team settings.

Job Description:
The Department of Family, Community and Health System Science at the University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking a part-time undergraduate programmer/data analyst to support a research study using structured electronic health record data.
This OPS position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to applied biomedical informatics and health services research focused on hospital discharge planning, post-acute care referrals, and 30-day hospital readmission outcomes. The selected student will work with Dr. Tamara G. R. Macieira to support data processing, algorithm implementation, validation analyses, and preparation of analytic summaries.
Expected Salary:
This position will have an hourly rate of $26.31
Required Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in computer science, data science, statistics, informatics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or another programming language used for data management and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data cleaning, variable creation, quality checks, and reproducible coding practices.
  • Interest in clinical data analysis, biomedical informatics, health services research, or clinical decision support.

Preferred:
  • Experience working with structured datasets.
