Description:
We are currently seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Activities Aide to join our team at our Machias home. This is a part-time position scheduled for 16 hours per week and includes weekday, evening, and weekend responsibilities. Flexibility in scheduling is a must to meet the needs of our residents and programming.
Position Summary
The Activities Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. This position works closely with the Activities Department to promote resident engagement, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and implementation of group and individual activities for residents
- Encourage resident participation in programs and special events
- Transport and escort residents to and from activities as needed
- Help decorate and prepare activity spaces for programs and events
- Document resident participation and maintain activity records as required
- Assist with community outings and special events when scheduled
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working with older adults, recreational programming, or customer service is preferred, but not required
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed
