Electrical Engineer II โ€“ PCB & Electronics Component Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months

Avanciers seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in PCB/PCBA manufacturing, electronic components, and product lifecycle management. The role involves supporting PCB component qualification, manufacturing, testing, NPI activities, and cross-functional engineering efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the lifecycle of PCB assemblies and electronic components.
  • Evaluate and qualify PCB components to meet engineering and quality standards.
  • Review PCB layouts and recommend design improvements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, contract manufacturers, and EMS partners to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Perform component analysis, obsolescence management, and risk mitigation.
  • Support prototype builds, functional, EMI, and reliability testing.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing.
  • Strong experience with PCB layouts, Gerber files, SMD, THD components, and multilayer PCB stack-ups.
  • Hands-on experience with AOI, AXI, ICT, FCT, JTAG, solderability, contamination, and functional testing.
  • Knowledge of PCB component placement guidelines and IPC standards.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill and CAD/SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
