Job Summary

The primary role of this position is to utilize and implement data analytics tools for all aspects of the Dover Alloy manufacturing facility including process control and business systems. Secondary support will be supplied for the Dover Casting facility at the direction of the IT/IS Manager.

Working with the business and manufacturing teams to develop meaningful data analytics from multiple sources will be required. This included ERP, MRP, quality systems and process control systems locally and in conjunction with other locations globally.

This role will also support application development when required to support analytics and legacy applications

This position provides a dynamic work environment in which the qualified candidate will directly contribute to the immediate and long-term needs of the company while at the same time supporting individual career development.

Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles

  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment

  • Report all job-related illnesses and injuries. (Per employee handbook)

  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner

  • Attend all EH&S training

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, program and implement reporting and software tools for various facets of the business

  • Assists business and manufacturing teams in gathering and producing analytics

  • Create SQL queries

  • Convert legacy access databases to a SQL/.net environment

  • Learn Support & assist users with systems

  • Cream applications where appropriate to support analytic requirements

  • Consults with the requester regarding analytical/programming requirements, determine the feasibility of requests and suggest alternatives, additions and approaches in fulfilling user needs

  • Develop specifications and the logic required to implement specific programs

  • Tests and debugs programs to verify results and documents the program in compliance with corporate standards

  • Pursue continuous learning consistent with changes in technology and using this to influence IS direction

Job Specifications:

  • Strong analysis, documentation and programming skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Person and over the phone when interacting with Dover user community, HIT or GID

  • Exposure to Manufacturing and/or Finance environments

  • Supervisory experience desirable but not required

  • Self-starter capable of managing small to medium sized projects within set budget and timeframe

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science with emphasis on programing preferred

  • 3 years of net application programing

  • 3 years relational database concepts

  • 3 years SQL server, (SSMS, SSIS,SSRS) and TOAD for Oracle/SQL server

  • Need to be able to write advanced queries using T-SQL

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
