Job description

Job Responsibilities Midlands Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Professor - Cardiac Care/EKG and Allied Health Sciences (AHS) to provide in-person instruction for Cardiac Care/EKG and other foundational Allied Health Sciences courses. Candidates must be available to teach afternoon and evening classes. This faculty pool supports multiple programs within the School of Healthcare, with courses including, but not limited to, Medical Terminology, Basic Patient Care, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Cardiac Care Technician (CCT), Phlebotomy, Computers in Health Care, Health Careers Preparation, and Law and Ethics.

The Adjunct Professor is responsible for preparing, organizing, and delivering engaging classroom and clinical instruction to a diverse student population. Responsibilities include evaluating and monitoring student performance and progress, providing guidance to help students achieve their academic and career goals, and maintaining compliance with college policies, procedures, and academic standards. Reporting to the Allied Health Sciences Director, the successful candidate will collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student success and contribute to a positive, high-quality learning environment.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Specialize in Cardiac Care/ EKG interpretation. Associates degree or higher in any Allied Health Science or Nursing discipline with demonstrated competences in the respective teaching area; OR if relevant, must have clinical/bedside skills; SC licensed RN or LPN with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in caring for the chronically ill of any age; current certification and minimum of (3) years of experience. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of four (4) years of professional experience with (2) years in higher education.

Available during day/evening hours and able to offer in-person instruction. Excellent computer and communication skills. Bachelor's degree with prior career tech/ higher education teaching experience Additional Comments Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule.

The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,625 per three-credit hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
