Job description

Waldorf University is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Outreach Representative to serve the Des Moines, Iowa metro area. This position is designed to strengthen Waldorf's presence in central Iowa by building and maintaining relationships that lead to increased enrollment in both residential and online academic programs. The Outreach Representative will act as a key liaison to community colleges, develop and foster corporate partnerships, and identify prospective students through strategic relationship-building.
This role involves regular travel within the region to engage with partners, promote Waldorf's academic offerings, and generate new enrollments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, personable, and committed to providing exceptional customer service, while supporting the University's mission and enrollment goals.
Essential Job Tasks Additional duties may be assigned.
  • Conduct outreach visits to all community colleges across the state of Iowa to strengthen institutional partnerships and promote Waldorf University programs.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with existing corporate partners while actively identifying and developing new partnership opportunities.
  • Serve as a representative of Waldorf University at college fairs, business expos, and community engagement events to enhance brand visibility and student recruitment.
  • Provide regular, data-informed feedback to university leadership on market trends, student needs, and emerging opportunities to support continuous improvement and strategic planning.
  • Increase the percentage of enrollments and starts from leads through training, experience, and follow-up with prospects through correspondence, visits, and routine phone conversations by providing assistance and completion of the application process.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues in recruitment to ensure that departmental goals are achieved.
  • Extensive regional travel will be required, including some weekends and may include holidays to provide information and support at conferences and Learning Partners.
  • Occasional expectation of travel to campus in Forest City, Iowa for events, meetings, and knowledge based training.
  • Promotes maintains and enhances workplace culture within Waldorf University.

Education, Experience, & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university is required.
  • Prior experience in sales, outreach, or higher education admissions strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Requires valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout Iowa and work flexible hours including hours outside of the normal business workday.

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position is remote and should have an established home office with secure and reliable internet. Working conditions will require frequent sitting, occasional walking and lifting/carrying up to 35lbs unassisted, frequent near vision use for reading and computer work. Noise levels will vary but generally will be moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
