Job Location: PST - Redford, Michigan
Job Schedule:
Week 1 - Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat
Week 2 - Sun, Wed & Thurs
Week 1 & 2 both on Swing shift - 12 hours 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM

About the role of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners manufactured by MNP. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable.
Responsibilities of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the process
Inspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuity
Read and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintained
Document parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as needed
Maintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocols
Participate in 5S housekeeping
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Previous heat treat experience
