 A PIT Order Picker is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) to efficiently and accurately fulfill customer orders by picking, moving, and loading products in a warehouse or distribution center. This role requires a combination of physical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating PIT Equipment:

Safely and effectively operating various PIT equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other specialized vehicles. 

  • Order Fulfillment:

Locating and retrieving products based on order tickets or computer prompts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Loading and Unloading:

Loading and unloading products onto delivery vehicles or into storage areas, adhering to safety regulations and best practices. 

  • Inventory Management:

Maintaining accurate inventory records, using scanning equipment and updating systems as needed. 

  • Safety and Compliance:

Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and reporting any issues or hazards. 

  • Additional Duties:

May also be required to assist with other warehouse tasks, such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, or performing general cleanup. 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand, walk, and lift moderately heavy items for extended periods. 
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in picking, packing, and loading orders is crucial.
