Job description

Do you want to be part of a powerful fast-moving force on the battlefield? As an Armour Soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), youโ€™ll operate and maintain tanks and Light Armoured Vehicles in the field and on deployment.

This position is available full-time or part-time.

Overview

As an Armour Soldier, your primary duties are to:

  • Drive and maintain the Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AVF)
  • Fire the AFVโ€™s main gun
  • Load the AFVโ€™s main gun and machineguns
  • Operate surveillance equipment
  • Maintain the communications equipment
  • Gather and relay information about the enemy and the terrain
  • Destroy enemy targets with direct fire

To be eligible to apply to the CAF, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada;
  • Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent), except:
    • For the Paid Education programs, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent);
    • For the Primary Reserve, you may be 16 years old (with parental consent) and must be enrolled as a full-time student;
  • Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quรฉbec (some jobs need higher levels of education).

Required Education

The minimum required education to apply for this occupation is the completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 or Secondary 4 in Quebec.

Foreign education may be accepted.
