Job Title: Production Operator

Leominster MA

$21.50-24.50/hr

Night Shift

Job Description

The Production Operator plays a crucial role in the packaging area, initially folding gaylords and packing products, before progressing to working on one of the four extruder lines. Here, operators produce two different types of plastic pellets used by various companies for product manufacturing. The operator will create different blends based on specific recipes and monitor the extruders during production.

Responsibilities

  • Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Verify manufacturing numbers, including item numbers, lot numbers, and quantities.
  • Document production information legibly on required paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of other team members.
  • Complete ongoing computer-based training using basic computer skills.

Essential Skills

  • Prior manufacturing experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for entire shift.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills for completing training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in blending and extruder operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical abilities.
  • Leadership skills and adherence to safe fork truck operation.
  • Experience in plastics or extrusion is advantageous.
