Job description

Recovery One, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-minded Equipment Operator to join our growing operation at the Port of Tacoma. This is a hands-on position operating a variety of heavy equipment while supporting daily yard operations and material processing activities.

Location: Port of Tacoma, WA
Pay: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour
Shift Options:
  • 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
  • 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Schedule varies depending on assigned shift length and operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate loaders, excavators, yard goats, and wood grinders safely and efficiently.
  • Load, move, sort, and process materials throughout the facility.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
  • Assist with general yard and operational duties as needed.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience with loaders, excavators, yard goats, grinders, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.

This is a safety-sensitive position.
