Job description

Metric Engineering is looking to hire Part-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operators to work the Night Shift. The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs to monitor the roadways and provide traveler information in the greater Central Florida area. The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance. The TMC dispatches Road Rangers and works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more. Operators will monitor and manage the roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
What you should bring:
  • Must be able to work various shifts on weekdays and weekends as operations are 24/7
  • Applicants must have the ability to work 12 hours overnight shifts (6pm-6am), 2 shifts per week
  • Proficient computer skills are a must
  • Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check
  • Dispatch and customer service and first responder experience is a plus
