About the Role

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Lead Hand at Zekelman Industries, Harrow, Ontario, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery to ensure optimal production performance and safety. This role supports our plant operations by troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic systems critical to manufacturing.

This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on mechanical work, and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently and safely.

Shift: Rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime as required

Pay: $40.35/hour + maintenance incentive.

$10K Sign-on Bonus: New hires will be awarded a one-time, sign-on bonus of $10,000.00 at the completion of their probationary period.

What You'll Do

Follows and promotes safe work practices in compliance with OSHA, WHMIS, and company policies, including LOTO and Arc Flash procedures.
Performs mechanical and hydraulic maintenance on industrial equipment, power systems, and plant machinery.
Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical drives, hydraulic systems, and manufacturing equipment.
Welds, cuts, and fabricates parts for equipment repairs and installations.
Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime.
Prepares and maintains detailed maintenance reports and documentation as required.
Ensures work orders are updated and closed in SAP as tasks are completed and parts are removed from stock.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Works collaboratively with other maintenance and production team members to resolve issues quickly.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Who You Are

Holds a valid Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (433A) License.
Graduate of a trade or technical school program, with training in welding, blueprint reading, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Certified welder (3G plate and other certifications) preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role.
Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial repair and operations.
Proficient in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and using diagnostic tools.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Displays a positive attitude and maintains effective working relationships across teams.
Comfortable using computer systems such as SAP for maintenance tracking.
Able to work safely at elevated heights and adapt to fast-paced plant environments.

Physical Abilities

Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with industrial tools and systems.
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts as required.
Capable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
Ability to work at elevated heights when necessary.
