Koniag IT Systems, LLC (KITS), a Koniag Government Services (KGS) company, is seeking a Computer Operator III to support KITS and our government customer in Durham, NC.

The Computer Operator III:

  • Recommends improved service routines, production techniques and modifications or additions to equipment.

  • Observes and controls the course of jobs being run on the computer system.

  • Takes immediate action to correct any machine malfunction.

  • Assists in the orientation of operators in a lower classification.

  • Maintains an understanding of production practices and procedures and assists in the resolution of production problems and issues.

  • Prepares and presents quantitative data regarding workflow processes and issues to management and supervisors.

  • Maintains production efficiency by using sound judgments when problem solving, and through effective oral communication.

  • Fulfills tasks of operators in a lower classification as needs arise.

  • Acts in place of program manager when needs require.

  • Maintains related logs and records.

  • Performs clerical duties as assigned.

  • Performs related work as assigned.

Skills & Behaviors:

  • Thorough knowledge of modern operating systems, networking, and MS Office software.

  • Thorough knowledge of clerical and reporting skills.

  • Excellent attention-to-detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to perform accurately, assigned routine operations on various data processing equipment.

Education, Training, & Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5+ years of personal computer experience. (required)

  • Four years of experience in a business mailroom, print operations, and/or mail sorting experience. (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or successful completion of related programs in data processing and computer operations. (preferred)

  • Experience with using loading and maneuvering equipment safely and effectively. (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Candidates who hold an active public trust government clearance are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Candidates who are willing to undergo a background investigation to receive a government clearance will be strongly considered.

  • Candidates must be able to work Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm daily. (Hours may vary based on workload and candidates must be flexible)

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.

  • Must be able to stand for significant periods of time.
