Cutting Tool Engineer

We are cutting tool manufacturer and distributor that services high-precision machining and manufacturing processes.

About the role

Looking for a tool design and application Engineer.

Position pays 80k to 100k

Responsibilities

ยท Tool Design & Development: Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ) to create blueprints and 3D models for custom cutting tools, special form tools, and complex indexable inserts.

ยท Process Optimization: Analyze machining operations to recommend the best cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth) to improve efficiency and reduce production costs.

ยท Material & Coating Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials (like carbide or high-speed steel) and coatings to enhance tool life and performance based on the specific material being machined.

ยท Testing & Validation: Conduct prototype testing and trials to validate tool performance, identifying potential improvements before full-scale production.

ยท Troubleshooting: Diagnose and solve tool-related issues on the production floor, such as premature wear, breakage, or poor surface finish.

ยท Supplier Collaboration: Work with external vendors and tool builders to manage the fabrication of new tools, ensuring they meet strict quality and cost targets .
